“We have a plethora of guys who are capable of scoring double digits every night,” said Father Tolton head hoach Jeremy Osborne. “Our guys did a really good job finding open guys and making the right basketball plays.”
We want to get out in transition,” said Porter Jr. “Because playing so fast, you tend to have a lot more turnovers, but I think we did a really good job of staying under control.”
Porter Jr. did more than just score a career high 45 points. He also tabbed 18 rebounds and six assists in the victory, and he’s out to prove he can do more than just score.
“I think I’m more of a complete player this year than I was last year,” said Porter Jr. “I’m trying to play an all-around game. I’m not just trying to be a scorer.”
Osborne was also impressed with Porter Jr.’s play.
“He’s so efficient and he knows he has guys around him who can make plays as well. His distribution of the ball, being a facilitator when we need him to be. That’s definitely a big time sign of growth.”
Father Tolton returns to the hardwood on Thursday, December 3 to host Fatima. Tip off is set for 8 p.m.
