Mike Lewis and Jayson Tatum helped lead Chaminade to a 76-63 win over their Metro Catholic Conference rival CBC Friday night in a packed Hyland Gymnasium at Lindenwood University.

Lewis, a Duquesne commit, rallied his team behind a career-high 27 points, while Duke commit, Jayson Tatum followed behind with 25 points of his own.

CBC hung tough with nationally ranked Chaminade the entire first half, playing to a 12-12 first quarter tie. The Red Devils then took a 31-29 lead into the locker room at half time.

Chaminade pushed ahead to start the third quarter, turning two straight CBC turnovers into four points, and led 57-44 going into the 4th quarter.

Jordan Barnes of CBC, an Indiana State University commit, finished with 25 points and led the Cadets back to within six points in the final minutes of play, but the rally came up short.

Chaminade Sophomore, Jericole Hellems, was the only other player in double figures for the Red Devils, chipping in 10 points.

Chaminade won’t be able to savor the victory for very long as they welcome Bentonville, Ark. and Kentucky bound Malik Monk Saturday night. Tip off is set for 8 p.m.
