Lecque, Christ School overcome 36-point performance by Dotson in win

Arden, NC – In a battle of two of the top guards in the country, Jalen Lecque and Christ School prevailed over Devon Dotson and Providence Day by a score of 78-62.

Dotson, a five-star prospect that is signed to play at Kansas next season, scored a game-high 36 points with 9 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. However, Dotson’s masterful performance still proved to be insufficient as Lecque went for 27 points to lead the Greenies past Providence Day.

Christ School was bolstered to the victory behind a huge third quarter that saw the Greenies knock down eight three-pointers to turn a five-point halftime lead into a 61-39 advantage at the end of three periods.

Christ School and Providence Day are cross-state opponents that compete in the NCISAA 3A classification. Both schools are strong candidates to win a North Carolina state championship, so a rematch is certainly within the realm of possibility.
